        Verdict

        DARNATHEAN was caught in the final strides at Kempton last week by Blue Deer. Racing off the same mark today, Paul D'Arcy's charge can go one better. The Kicking Lord has shown enough in maiden company to suggest he can figure at this level and has more scope for improvement than most of the opposition. He's preferred to the frustrating pair Lindoro and Cadmium Loch while Shaunas Spirit also seems to be running on empty at the minute. Piccolo Express is a C&D winner and not badly treated if back to his best.
