Hellbent can follow up a recent success over the likes of Lucius Verrus, Man Crazy and Jalouhar. Tony Carrol's Hellbent finally came good in claiming company here at the end of February in what was a dramatic race, with the favourite Frenchman's Lodge falling as they approached the final furlong. In the melee, Jimmy Quinn was able to get a trouble-free run through from behind to score cozily in the end. Whether he would have prevailed had the jolly stayed up right is open to conjecture, but he did it well enough and might just follow up in a race that is not much better. Lucius Verrus was successful here last April but has not added to that for Derek Shaw. This slow-starter stayed on well last time to chase home Fraternity though and may be coming back to form. Man Crazy looks held by the latter on that latest line of form but seems to like the surface, while Jalouhar has been very consistent at this level and could well make the frame again. Hellbent gets a chance to prove that his recent win was not entirely due to chance and he gets the vote.
