It may be worth chancing the ex-Irish Ronsard, who was consistent for Tommy Stack in his homeland and, with the possibility of cramped odds being available about Heat Of The Night, he looks the value call. Asharon is obviously in good heart and he should make a bold bid to land his three-timer. The drop to this trip should not be a problem for the Clive Brittain-trained colt and he is a big threat to them all; despite being set to race off a 9lb higher mark than for his latest victory. Heat Of The Night was not winning out of turn when she forced her head in front over course and distance last month. However, that form has taken a few knocks since then and Peter Chapple-Hyam's runner does not look to be anything out of the ordinary. She is not one to go overboard about, despite her eye-catching pedigree. Therefore we switch to Ronsard in the search for a betting angle. The son of Spectrum has obviously been bought with a jumping career in mind, as his stable are more noted in that area of racing. However, Heather Dalton has an excellent strike-rate from the small number of Flat runners she has sent out over the last few years and any market interest will only boost our confidence today. Rated 81 from his time in the Emerald Isle, Ronsard starts his British career on mark that may limit his chances if he improves further. So now may be the best time to catch the three-year-old for a price before the handicapper has a chance to do his job.
