The principals here appear to be Bill Bennett, Maybe Someday and Bold Blade, of which we just favour Bold Blade. Bill Bennett's course and distance win came in a maiden but he certainly likes it here, so you can forgive a modest Lingfield run last time. He is entitled to be improving too because, for a long time, he was having trouble with his teeth. Maybe Someday is a course winner over seven furlongs and, having run well at Lingfield Park last time, comes here in good heart and should be competitive here. Bold Blade won over a mile at Southwell in December, form on which he is closely weighted with Myannabanana but holds Atlantic Breeze. Bold Blade has improved for the application of blinkers and ran well from a bad draw last time, as did Myannabanana. His trainer also expects him to benefit from the step up in trip. Of the others, Joint Destiny takes a big step up in trip today, which should suit, although he was beaten in a six-furlong Lingfield seller last time. Overall, then, in an interesting contest, we'll opt for Bold Blade.
