Verdict
Just the six runners turn up for this sprint handicap and part of the reason far that might be the presence of LEWYN in the contest as Kevin Ryan's charge is on red hot form and gets our call ahead of the consistent Duke Of Rainford and handicap debutante Fair Passion. A winner of his last two races including in taking style on his last start the pick has only lost twice at this venue in five outings. If running up to the form of his last two runs his nine pound mark hike is unlikely to stop the hat-trick being landed. Duke Of Rainford has held his form well since scoring over course and distance in January whilst giving the impression he needs a favour from the handicapper before scoring gain; the pick also holds him on their last meeting. Fair Passion has been progressive in three maiden starts and while he doesn't look thrown in at the weights on his first handicap run he should be a live contender with more progress likely. Maldon Prom is another for the short-list but this trip hasn't been his forte and his last run leaves him with something to prove so out of the six runners Lewyn is a confident selection.
