Saviour Sand has been rather expensive to follow and David Elsworth's colt may again have to settle for minor honours with preference for Muscovado, who gets the vote ahead of Granary. The last mentioned is less exposed than some of these after just three career starts and Henry Candy's filly has shown gradual improvement with each start and step up in trip. Hayley's Pearl has shown only limited ability over hurdles and fences and is hard to recommend on her belated flat debut, while Blackbury was well held in a weak race at Wolverhampton on Friday evening and is probably best watched. Pelican Waters showed a decent level of form in Ireland and has to be respected on his debut for Ed Vaughan but Luca Cumani's Muscovado stepped up on his debut effort when a close fifth behind the in-form Demisemiquaver at Lingfield last month. A reproduction of that effort should suffice in this company.
