In depth

Verdict

Copal posted a better effort at Kempton last time and steps up in trip while Cadeau d'Amour was another big improver at Nottingham recently and both are preferred to State Of Affair. But one of the newcomers will not need to be anything special to land this and three contenders take the eye. Great Bear is out of an Irish Oaks winner and a brother to a winner while Madeeh is a half-brother to stablemate Mahaarat, a winner on the all-weather. But SO HIGH is a half-brother to former stablemate and subsequent Grade 2 winner Utmost and it’s John Gosden’s colt that’s gets the nod to make a winning start.
