In depth

Verdict

The form book doesn't throw up many positives for the thirteen runners in this field but a case can be made for TUMBLECLOUD whilst The Staffy did run a good race at the track back in February. On the plus side, a number of the field are relatively unexposed and may be poised to blossom now that they have qualified for their marks and are encountering more realistic company; the market could be useful in unearthing any gems. Tumblecloud has plenty to find on these terms as he'd be considerably better off with a number of his rivals in a handicap but he ran well enough in two starts at Dundalk at the end of last summer to earn the nod. The Staffy finished second over course and distance on his second start and a repeat of that could suffice in this contest. He failed to build on that run but a visor may bring about some improvement on just his second start for this trainer. Flying Gazebo and Head First are arguably some of the more interesting rivals but the nominal pick is Tumblecloud.
