GREENSWARD can prevail under a more positive ride. Brian Meehan's gelding was given plenty to do at Windsor last time when dropping back to six furlongs and ultimately that proved his undoing. From a nice draw he should go one place better today with the step back up in trip also in his favour. The well-handicapped Mountain Cat is not discounted on his first start for Kevin Ryan with cheek-pieces applied, although a more obvious threat lies with the front-runner Smalljohn who has held his form well since a Musselburgh win in June under a strong ride. Glenridding has taken advantage of a slipping mark but this strong front-runner is actually able to race of a lower mark today now returned to the all-weather, and along with the in-form Kipchak and fellow course and distance winner Emeebee is rated highly.
