Verdict

With the Godolphin horses flying LAYALI AL ARAB can strike ahead of newcomer Proenza. The son of Cape Cross was an 11/10 favourite at Beverley but was a bitter disappointment, staying on into a six-length seventh after finding some trouble in running. Mr Dettori takes over in the saddle today and this half-brother to Court Masterpiece can take top honours. James Given has his horses running well so don't discount his two newcomers with Silk Bounty of most interest, however a more obvious danger is Bearheart who is improving with each start and the booking of Paul Hanagan is a positive. Avid Kale looks more of a potential improver than Ivan Vasilevich, whilst All In A Paddy is out of a speedy mare and needs a market check on his racecourse bow.
