In depth

Verdict

In what looks overall a modest race, Great Explorer gets the call over New World Order and Varya. Great Explorer showed promise on his Yarmouth debut and the extra furlong of today's race should help today. In a race where few can be considered seriously, he gets the call. New World Order showed promise on his debut in Ireland and was then well held on testing going in two further starts, so he can be given some thought on today's surface, along with Sir Mark Prescott's Varya, who showed some promise on her six-furlong debut here. Finally, Barney Curley runs Pindar, but he has shown little in two starts to date and much as My Beautaful showed promise on her debut here, the drop back in trip was not an obvious choice based on that run. Once again, then, the selection is Great Explorer.
