      In depth

      Verdict

Gem Bien is taken to confirm recent form with Illustrious Duke in a race where Logistical and Fayr Firenze are rated the main dangers. The selection has done little wrong since being dropped into this grade, winning twice at Southwell and twice finding just one too good here, and has an obvious chance of opening his account on the Polytrack today. David Chapman's gelding is 6lbs worse in with Illustrious Duke on their running over course and distance last month but the selection has arguably improved since then while the runner-up has done little since in two subsequent outings. Logistical sprung a surprise when winning at Lingfield last time and it remains to be seen whether he can reproduce the form today in a slightly better race, while Fayr Firenze also has more to do than when winning at the same venue on his most recent start. Laurel Dawn showed that he still retains ability at Southwell earlier this month but has not won for some time, while Badou has given little sign of encouragement of late but is capable in this grade. Gem Bien has an obvious chance in this company though and is taken to give weight away all round.
