In depth

Verdict

John Jenkins has had a few winners of late including with Bookiesindex Girl, who landed a handicap at Southwell in good fashion last month, but an 8lb rise for her recent success and the switch back to the Polytrack may count against the filly and preference is for MIAMI GATOR, who gets the vote ahead of Tamarind Hill. Alan McCabe's gelding has been running creditably over six and seven furlongs of late and he may do better now stepped up to a mile for the first time. Richard Hannon's Pastello has given little sign of encouragement from eight starts so far and was well held when last seen in November so looks best watched with a bigger threat likely to come from Wedding Dream. Kevin Ryan's gelding has been in good form on the Fibresand in recent starts, winning twice over a mile, but she has yet to prove that she is as effective on the Polytrack and a safer option seems to be Miami Gator. The son of Titus Livius has been running well for John Weymes of late and he can go one better than when narrowly beaten here last time.
