This is a poor maiden and looks an ideal opening for Cayman Sunrise to get off the mark at the expense of Shadowfax and Cloudless. Ed Dunlop's filly is a half-sister to five winners in the U.S. and is from the same family as Lockinge Stakes winner Emperor Jones, so she will be worth a small fortune to breed with, should she get her head in front. She was effective with give underfoot on turf, so this slower surface should suit her well. Shadowfax caught the eye at Southwell recently when coming from well off the pace under considerate handling. That was his first outing for nearly a year and he is sure to be all the sharper here. Cloudless is nothing special, but she is out of a mare that won over this trip and mustn't be discounted in this company, but Givemethemoonlight has been beaten in sellers and it is hard to see her being competitive here. Best Before showed some ability on turf when chasing home Will He Wish (four times a winner since). Although he has yet to reproduce that effort, it could be that this surface may bring about some improvement. However, Cayman Sunrise has faced some stiff tasks in the maidens she has tackled to date and should make no mistake at this level.
