Not a strong division here and this could again be an opportunity for recent course winner Cressex Katie. Racing off a mark 1lb below that win here over 6f in October, she can continue her rejuvenation and win for the first time over the minimum trip. Valuable Gift may be many people's idea of the winner after being beaten just a head by On The Trail at Southwell the other day, but that too was over 6f and the gelding does genuinely give the impression that the minimum trip is too short for him, so he is passed over on this occasion. Course and distance winner Carols Choice may be the one to give the selection most to do. Most recent of her two wins here came in a seller back in June. Since then she has looked exposed, but a drop down the weights saw her finish second last time out. Raised 1lb for that run, she will not find it easy here and a place may be her best opportunity again. Flapdoodle is another with a course and distance win on her CV, though that was over two years ago. A very difficult sort to win with, she has looked fully exposed since a Folkestone success in June off a mark of 46 and off 4lb more than that she is likely to be chasing a few home again here. Sergeant Slipper is a confirmed 5f specialist, with all four of his career wins coming over the trip. However, he is definitely on the slide, having won off 60 in the past, but now struggling to pick up a victory since a Ripon success in April of last year. He too is overlooked. Indian Music is back on the same mark as a 6f win here in August and if he still has the speed he could be thereabouts when the placings are decided.
