A terrific handicap that may fall to Devil's Island, Merrymadcap and Jakarmi may do best of the others. Sir Mark Prescott's four-year-old was successful over course and distance last month, and following a blip at Lingfield next time out, he put in a solid display a week ago when second to Eloquent Knight. If in the same frame of mind this afternoon he looks the one to beat. Merrymadcap gained an overdue fist victory at Bath in September and judging by his close third to the 75 rated Stargazer Jim here in July he could have got in lightly. Jakarmi looked on the way back to his best with a second behind Chicken Soup at Southwell last time and could be solid each-way material. Augustine has a bit to find with the selection on recent running but may to best of the others. So all in all a tough little race but Devil's Island could be up to the task.
