Verdict

Finsbury, Ohana and After You are the three to consider here and a chance is taken with Ohana. Barry Hills¿ newcomers are always worthy of respect especially in a weak race like this and he introduces After You. A daughter of Pursuit Of Love, she has obviously been slow to come to hand, hence this belated debut, but she is from a winning family and a half-sister to a winner over seven furlongs. Chris Wall saddles Finsbury, a son of Observatory, and he has shown promise in his two starts to date. He was a close fourth at Windsor on his debut and was made joint favourite for his next start here, but although staying on at the finish, was fourth again. This half-brother to the six furlong winner Zowington will be thereabouts. Ohana was thrown in at the deep end on his Newmarket debut but faded in the closing stages. That was over a mile and he shaped much better when dropped back to seven furlongs at Lingfield, finishing a close second. This son of Mark of Esteem is bred to appreciate further but it may be this trip of six furlongs will see him to best effect and Ohana is taken to claim the opener.
