    Verdict

CARTER has been reassessed after landing his hat-trick here last month and the handicapper has upped him a whopping 13lb. That would normally be enough to anchor a North Sea Ferry but, such is the quality of today's opposition, Ian Williams' charge could easily make it four in a row. Maslak is the only one of today's rivals with a recent run and he was beaten out of sight on that occasion, while Goodlukin Lucy won on turf in October but has been well beaten in all three starts on Polytrack. Jeer has won here but finished last over C&D back in November. Gloucester is a decent handicapper over hurdles but this is his first race on the level since last July.
