        Verdict

        Moon Empress has obvious claims on these terms and is selected ahead of Glory Days and Pukka Tique. The last named won over hurdles last November, so should have no problems with today's trip. However, his Flat form leaves plenty to be desired and, even though there were encouraging signs posted by him here last month, he does have a bit to prove. Glory Days lacks experience but has a likeable pedigree (her dam won the Fillies Mile for Luca Cumani in 1997) and should win a race in due course. She will be interesting in handicaps after this. However, Moon Empress edges the verdict for the present time. The daughter of rainbow Quest was unlucky not to win last time out and, as she sets the standard, this looks like the right time to side with William Muir's charge.
