Nan Jan can make the most of the weight that she receives to land the finale, with Scamperdale, Bordello and Norwegian all likely to figure. There are no less than seven course-and-distance winners in opposition here, but we shall rely instead on Nan Jan who has plummeted down the weights since 2005. Roger Ingram's mare overcame all the bad luck going to get up and score at Lingfield 11-days ago, and the way that she finished both then and on her return to the fray the time before suggests that she is worth a go over 10-furlongs. Scamperdale loves it round here, all four career successes coming over track-and-trip, but he needs to be produced late on the scene and will need things to go his way. Bordello was too keen on what was his handicap debut at Haydock in April, but will be better for the run, and based on last season's maiden efforts, has a small race in him, while of the remainder it would be folly to rule out Norwegian, back on surface that he likes. It was hard to fault Nan Jan's latest performance though, and she gets the vote to be just as effective over today's longer trip.
