Plenty of suspect characters here so minimum stakes is the mantra and WESTER LODGE is the pick with Saloon and Thorny Mandate others to make appeal. Connections appear unclear as to Wester Lodge's trip but he had performed with some credit over course-and-distance in the past and at the likely odds, he makes some appeal in spite of never winning on an artificial surface in the past. Saloon won at Kempton under a canny ride. He is likely to be favourite even though he is plenty exposed in our opinion. Thorny Mandate is a fairly reliable creature who generally runs up to his form.
