        Verdict

        Clovelly Bay won a Class 5 handicap at Lingfield under today’s apprentice and Threediamondrings went close in the same grade over track and trip on Boxing Day. RIDE THE LIGHTNING (NAP) makes more appeal as was upped in class last time but had earlier gone close in this grade at Lingfield when well ahead of Hermann. Ardamir looks a shade high in the weights but Faithful Creek is not badly treated if seeing out today’s longer trip. Tangramm rattled-up a four-timer early last year but remains 3lb higher than his latest success at Chelmsford in March.
