Mussorgsky can come out on top over Great Composer, with Red Cape, Gibbs Camp and Lunar Express all likely to make their mark in time. Robert Winston will not take long in getting back amongst the winners, and you can be sure that Mussorgsky will improve on his debut effort at Newmarket in October when last of 13 on soft ground. He is a lot better than that at home, and as he is related to Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Elmhurst, it is hoped that the switch to the all-weather will bring out the best in him. Great Composer was not beaten that far when ninth on his debut here a fortnight ago, while Red Cape caught the eye when staying on into sixth ahead of Gibbs Camp from his outside draw here just over three weeks ago. That was over six furlongs, so he too enters calculations along with Lunar Express, fourth on her Yarmouth introduction in August. A half-sister to German 2,000 Guineas winners Dupont and Pacino, she has to be on the short-list as well, but in a wide-open contest, Mussorgsky gets the vote.
