Paul Howling's Resplendent Ace has every chance on the pick of his form but may struggle under his penalty for a win in a claimer back in February and a better bet in a poor quality contest looks to be SIR BOSS. Don Cantillon's gelding has not been seen on the flat since October but ran well when third behind Wind Shuffle in a novices' hurdle at Perth last month and that should have put him spot on for this outing, for which he has plenty in hand on official BHA ratings. The Ian Williams-trained Shannersburg appreciated the drop to this grade when a close second behind Lava Lamp at Catterick last week and he makes marginally more appeal than Jeff Pearce's Motarjam, who ran well enough in a claimer at Brighton when last seen in April.
