chased leaders until weakened well over 1f out
slowly into stride, always behind
dwelt, held up, switched right 2f out, headway well over 1f out, ran on final furlong, not trouble winner
always behind
chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened inside final furlong
made all, ridden clear well over 1f out, kept on
started slowly, always behind, tailed off
chased winner, ridden over 2f out, no impression
mid-division, headway over 3f out, weakened over 1f out
held up, ridden and headway over 2f out, kept on
chased leaders, driven 4f out, soon lost pace
soon behind, headway over 1f out, never near leaders
Locombe Hill is in good form at present and is taken to get his head in front at the main expense of Sir Francis and Cut And Dried. The selection looks to be on a handy mark and he ran as though his turn might be about to come when a good second behind Savernake Brave over this course and distance last time. A reproduction of that effort should be enough to see him get his head in front today. Sir Francis was a little disappointing behind Blue Empire here last time and although he will run his race, he hasn't won for over three years and looks worth taking on. Cut And Dried was a little unlucky at Windsor last time when he ran into trouble, but he tackles this trip for the first time and he is probably best watched on this occasion. Feast of Romance is game and consistent and is capable in this grade, but he is becoming hard to win with and for the winner we will stick with Locombe Hill.
