        Verdict

        The form figures of TARA FAY suggest she'll be out with the washing here but Gordon Elliott's mare showed signs of ability in Ireland and the fact that Jamie Spencer has been booked is a pointer that the stable mean business - she could be a blot on this handicap. Elliott also has The Last Straw entered though she's shown no sign of ability to date but the other Irish raider, Pacey Outswinger, ran very well at Ayr when last seen in October and though well beaten on her only Polytrack start that was on her racecourse debut in 2009. After completing a double over 7f, Mataajir did even better when scoring over a mile at Southwell where he stayed on so strongly that today's longer trip looks even more in his favour. A four-timer looks a distinct possibility but Idol Deputy is now 8lb higher than when scoring here last month and has been beaten from a lower mark subsequently.
