Bold Indian can open his account at the expense of Dear One and newcomers Castle Durrow and Leonard Charles. On the evidence so far, this looks good for Bold Indian who was formerly trained in Ireland before coming over to join Ian Semple. A close second to Giant Slalom over the course-and-distance three weeks ago, he now qualifies for a handicap mark, but before going down that route, should almost certainly be capable of opening his account in maiden company. Dear One only beat one home on her Kempton bow in April, and the daughter of Montjeu has quite rightly been given time to strengthen up. She should improve, and any support for either Leonard Charles or Castle Durrow would be interesting, but we have no hesitation in nominating Bold Indian as the one to beat.
