ORPSIE BOY was beaten only a short-head over track and trip last month. He can effectively race off a lower mark with an apprentice's allowance taken into account and Ruth Carr's charge gets the nod. Monte Cassino scored here three weeks ago but the eight-year-old has yet to win off a mark as high as today's while Red Cobra has a poor strike rate though he's finished a bit closer on the Turf of late. Basle has been well beaten since scoring here in June but Piccolo Express can pop-up at this level when the mood takes him.
