Verdict
Memory Cloth is 7lb better off than when beaten four-and-a-half lengths by PURPLE BAY on his hurdling debut at Stratford. But Brian Ellison's Flat winner will need to settle better if he's to truly stay the trip over obstacles and there's a chance that the better ground will suit John Ferguson's promising four-year-old more here so he can confirm the form. Downtown Boy should improve on his third at Sedgefield and Spitz shaped nicely at Kelso and looks the pick of the remainder.
