This should be a straightforward opportunity for Detonator, who is nominated over Almamia and Toll Gate. The selection looks a cut above his rivals here as he was a bit unlucky on his debut when showing plenty of speed and finishing second behind Lord Peter Flint at Warwick. He was squeezed for room in that race and he was flying at the finish so he looks to have rock solid claims today with the step-up in trip sure to suit. Almamia looks the chief rival and this filly from the Sir Mark Prescott yard looks to be going the right way on the evidence of her two runs to date. She has a good draw and she should be the one to profit if the selection fails to fire. Toll Gate was well beaten on her debut at Bath and will need to show considerable improvement to make her mark, but she is well drawn and she can't be ruled out. It will be a surprise if any of others are good enough, and for the winner we will stick with Detonator who can blast his way to victory.
