City Flyer is 9lbs higher than for the last of his wins (at Southwell last February). Factual Lad has not won since his two-year-old days but has been running well of late from this mark. Mallard was second off this mark over c/d 18 days ago. Lightly raced, he has also won over c/d (from a mark of 56, now 52). He looks to hold a very good chance and gets the selection. Super Dominion has won here over 7f (from a mark of 55, now 50) but that was in December 2001. He lost his way last year so you are banking on a return to the groove. My Penny is a lightly-raced French import with little in the way of form, it would seem. Anemos ran well over c/d last time from today's mark and is entitled to place claims again. Hamanuptra is a maiden with little in the way of form. Prince Minata won over c/d here in June (from a mark of 39, now 45 but with good claimer taking five pounds off his back) but his form since then has been patchy (has broken blood vessels). Wilfram has never won on the AW and a number of others are preferred. Caernomore has little in the way of form, including in first-time blinkers on only try here. James Dee won over 7f here in September 1999 from a mark of 68 (now 39) but you have to go a long way back to discover any form from him. Likely Lady won at Pontefract in the summer but recent form is uninspiring. Despite being a half-sister to the high-class Ron's Victory, Kama's Wheel has never won a race. Two recent efforts on the AW here have not inspired a great deal of confidence. The selection goes to Mallard, with Factual Lad and Anemos the place candidates.
