Verdict

Trainer Sylvester Kirk won this last year but tonight's entry Yattendon will do well to emulate that success and preference is for The Mighty One, while Moon Bound and Saunders Encore look best of the rest. Patrick Haslam sends The Mighty One down to the Midlands exactly one month after the gelding made a pleasing debut when third of 13 , beaten just three-quarters-of-a-length at Catterick over 7f. His half brother Brioso was a multiple winner at five and six furlongs as a juvenile and The Mighty One looks more than capable of improving for that debut and landing this. Moon Bound is one of a number of debutantes here and is related to juvenile sprint winner Dixie Belle, and with his yard in form he may be the biggest danger. Stoneacre Pat comes from a yard that does well at the track, but he is likely to be better next year, and Saunders Encore, another related to multiple juvenile sprint winners looks a better proposition. We'll keep an eye on the market here, but without that knowledge we will side with The Mighty One to outmuscle them.
