My Mentor has struggled since landing a handicap over this trip at Southwell in March and is 2lbs lower in the handicap now but he is hard to back with confidence after recent starts and a better bet may be Alonso de Guzman, who gets the vote over King's Fable. The last mentioned ran much better at Warwick last month and he has to be respected but Karen George's gelding is creeping up in the weights and may be booked for a place at best. Mick Easterby's Fenners is on a fair mark but is hard to back with confidence on recent form, while Etain is less exposed than most of these but is seemingly best on a soft surface on turf so looks best watched. Alonso de Guzman has done little wrong of late be it on the Polytrack or on turf and Jim Boyle's gelding is taken to gain a deserved success.
