Another tight-looking handicap in which Eye Of The Water reverts to 6f after scoring over an extra furlong in January. He always shows plenty of pace so dropping back shouldn't pose a problem though conceding the weight to a couple of these may be beyond him. Boarhunt had shown very little before making a successful handicap debut over 7f here last month where he led at this trip and ran on strongly. He should improve but MY BOY JACK looks the one to beat. He has generally been consistent but was having his 22nd start when finally getting off the mark 10 days ago and has only been raised 2lb. Sam Fielden, who rode him that day, couldn't claim and can now use his 7lb allowance. It's a long time since Apache Star gained his only success on this track but he's dropped to a winnable mark while Oisin Murphy is booked for recent Newcastle winner Final Account.
