Claptrap just gets the nod here over Failed To Hit and Last Of The Mohicans. The selection won a 15-furlong claimer here in November, and has to be on the shortlist of possibles for this two-mile contest. Add to that number Last Of The Mohicans, who runs again quickly - and steps up in trip - after a good third at Lingfield three days ago, and Failed To Hit, one of only two course winners in the line-up. He's now eleven but, having won a similar race from a mark of 57, he's fully entitled to go well rated 52 at a track he loves. Of the others, Olimp has won in his native Poland but is a little hard to assess following injury, although he should strip fitter today after a recent spin over hurdles. And Reflex Blue is better known as a hurdler these days, but is well handicapped based on his Flat form of two-and-a-half years ago. These seem to be the principals and, of these, we like the look of Claptrap.
