Confrontational had been in cracking form at Dundalk before a moderate run for new connections when soon beaten after leading early in a better class race at Lingfield. Roman De Brut hasn’t won since 2017 but is gradually dropping to a winnable mark and has to be respected. DECORATION OF WAR, with two course and distance victories to his credit, was well supported here last time but didn’t get the run of the race and compensation awaits. Shyron hasn’t won for over two years and appears best at Lingfield these days but Come On Tier found 1m2f too far last time and would have a chance on his close third at Newcastle in January.
