In depth

Verdict

WEST EMIRATES and Understory appear to be the two to concentrate on with preference for the Cox runner whilst Adam De Beaulieu may be able to make the frame. The selection made a pleasing start to his career on the racecourse when chasing home a John Gosden trained winner at this course over seven furlongs. He's entitled to improve for that initial experience and is bred to appreciate this longer trip. Understory represents a yard that has been carrying all before them during the course of the winter but he was clueless on debut and readily outpointed last time. He'll stay further than this in time and this track may suit him better than Lingfield and it would be no surprise to see him post a career best. Adam De Beaulieu has twice shaped well at this track and has reasonable claims of filling the frame but it's hard to see him lowering the colours of both of the main protagonists. The newcomers need to be monitored for support as ever but preference is for West Emirates.
