        Verdict

        BARODINE might just be up to the task of seeing off some iffy rivals, with Join Up, Cruise Control and Space Pirate others to consider. The selection was a course and distance winner from a 6lbs lower mark last month, though before getting carried away he has been beaten twice since, including from this mark last time. Even so, he does at least appear to reproduce his running more often than not and if he performs to his optimum then it will hopefully be good enough. Join Up is another consistent performer who is suffering for making the frame on a numer of occasions, as the handicapper is relucant to drop him. Track and trip suit and he should be bang there again but just lacks toe at the business end. Cruise Control has been dropped 1lb after making the frame in a similar race here last time and has to be given a chance on that basis, while Space Pirate would be a player at his best, but he does throw in too many stinkers to be trusted, and if you must play then Barodine is a tentative suggestion.
