        Verdict

        Andalieb is making steady progress and improved again to finish runner-up over C&D in October. He looks sure to make a bold bid but may find RIO GRANDE too good. The latter just failed to catch the winner over 6f here last time and, as breeding suggests this longer trip will suit, he gets the vote to open his account. Great Nicanor is another going the right way, but newcomer National Hero went unsold in the October sales which doesn't do much to boost confidence in his chances. Sir Mark Prescott's good strike rate at this track is mostly with older horses and Neige D'Antan will probably need a longer trip to show her best anyway.
