        Verdict

        Chokidar is making hard work of losing his maiden tag and finished in a place for the fourth consecutive time over C&D last month. He may well suffer the same fate today as RED LOVER looks good enough to score on his belated return to action. Beaten only a length when fourth at Doncaster in October last year, he had subsequent smart handicappers Kirthill and Sirius Prospect ahead of him and Ed Dunlop's charge gets the nod on that form. Menha showed signs of temperament on her recent seasonal debut and the newcomer Aqua Ardens is likely to need need further to show his best.
