Brian Meehan's Desert Prince colt Purple Sands has to be of interest on his debut but those with experience look more than capable of taking a race of this nature with preference for Capannina, who gets the vote ahead of Kaladar. The last mentioned ran better on a soft surface at Leicester last time but was well held by the winner that day and may be best watched here. Jamie Osborne's Zelos showed only a modicum of ability on his debut and is hard to back with any confidence on that evidence, while Our Herbie only beat one home on his debut but John Hills-trained runners tend to improve with racing. The vote though goes to Capannina, who improved from his first outing at Leicester last time and would not need to improve much, if at all, on that run to win this.
