        Verdict

        Gentlewoman failed to build on the promise of an earlier debut when beaten at odds-on at Newmarket and headgear is applied. She finished behind third-placed POWERFUL STAR last time and David Lanigan’s filly should make a bold bid in this with normal progress. Royal Welcome is going the right way judged on a recent second at Redcar while several return from a lay-off. Turn 'n Twirl struggled in a conditions race at Meydan in January and is penalised for winning at Lingfield earlier but Ascended and Alma Linda showed ability last year and are both worth a second glance with the former preferred.
