Lygeton Lad was winning off a mark of 47 at this track in November 2001 and he is sent out today off 76. He was given a curious ride by Simon Whitworth at Lingfield but in our opinion, he is still a couple of pounds too high in the handicap. Sir Northerndancer doesn't know how to run a bad race these days. He would be much easier to fancy from a low draw and whilst he is good enough to win this, he'll have to utilise plenty of petrol to get himself in a position to do so. Karl Burke's string have caught the eye in more ways than one and if there is any money for Inchcoonan - it should not be ignored. We will side with David Arbuthnot's Middleton Grey. It is somewhat ironic that the draw will not inconvinience him as he needs to be "dropped in" before sticking on resolutely up the stretch. The jockey looks to have chosen him in preference to Lygeton Lad and this is a good enough recommendation in our book.
