A wide open contest rounds off the card and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Joshua's Gold, Iced Diamond and Taranaki and the tentative vote is given to Joshua's Gold. The selection looks on a fair mark and ran as if about to hit form when third behind Lord Chamberlain last time out. This looks easier and from a good draw he looks the value bet in an open affair. Iced Diamond rates the main danger on his latest fourth behind Lord Chamberlain but on a line through that horse he has a little to find with the selection. Taranaki is another that could go well but he was slightly disappointing for no apparent reason last time so he can not be put forward with any confidence. African Gift is from a yard in form and could go well at a price but he is hard to win with and in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Joshua's Gold.
