Danum acts a touch better on this surface as opposed to the one at Southwell and is fancied to pull out the extra effort required to see off the challenges from Emperor Car and Wood Fern. The last named won well here last week - appearing to relish the extra distance. Therefore, today's trip is a slight concern and, with the majority of his previous efforts being modest, he may be just short of the mark on this occasion. Emperor Cat has a habit of making the frame at this level and is in good enough heart to expect a bold bid. However, he is not noted as crowd pleaser for win only purposes and his willingness to play second fiddle is disconcerting. Admittedly Danum has also been a frustrating performer over the last couple of seasons and has thrown away plenty of chances. However, his last few starts have indicated that he will get it right one day and he has very little to find at this level. The paying public at Wolverhampton deserve better fare than this for their entrance money, but at least Danum can go well for them at a fair price.
