In a modest event, Mind Alert is selected ahead of Teyaar and Dark Moon. Majestical has dropped to a mark from which he ought to be competitive but he has a wide draw to overcome. The drop in trip will have to stoke up Layed Back Rocky if he is to get competitive today, while Mind Alert has plenty of recent placings from around today's mark of late and can be expected to be thereabouts again. Teyaar, Grand View and Must Be Keen represent what amounts to solid Banded Stakes form and can all be considered, while Navigation is well-weighted based on his best 2005 form and, much as he has been disappointing of late, first-time headgear could help the cause. Dark Moon showed a bit more sparkle last time and cannot be ruled out of some money, but the others have something to prove at present. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Mind Alert.
