    Verdict

Calzaghe is well-bred and ran well when upped to this trip last time out when finishing second. He can make amends with a win today at the main expense of Distant Sunset and Global Traffic. The selection responded well to a first-time visor last time out at Salisbury and he looks out of place in this race given his breeding (by Galileo out of a Darshaan mare). If the visor works for a second time and he is ridden more positively, this could be one of the better bets of the day. Global Traffic returns to the all-weather where he has shown his best form in the past. However, he is yet to fully prove that he stays this far as his best form is around a mile and so for that reason he is opposed. Anne Bronte steps back up in trip again which looks sure to suit given her way of running and she must be feared, although the stable don't seem to be in outstanding form at present. Distant Sunset ran well the last time she ran over course and distance so is another for consideration. Mick Easterby's pair should be watched for support in the betting but Calzaghe could be a cut above these and gets the confident selection.
