Verdict

PLUTONIAN returned to winning ways over 1m2f here last month. An apprentice’s allowance negates a 5lb rise in the weights and this shorter trip is no problem given Charlie Hills’ colt won a maiden over course and distance last year. War Glory was placed at Chelmsford last time when in front of Masham Star but the latter ran much better at Ayr a week ago. Poets Dream is reunited with his current trainer having won twice in Qatar since landing a maiden at Thirsk last year but both Brittanic and Bronze Angel continue to struggle.

Bronze Angel (IRE) 33-1 (9-9) Held up towards rear, pushed along and struggling 3f out, never a factor, last of 9, 13 3/4l behind Pivoine (9-5) at Sandown 1m 2f hcp (3) gf in Jun.

Masham Star (IRE) 6-1 (9-1) Tracked leaders, headway over 2f out, led inside final 2f, soon ridden, headed inside final furlong, kept on same pace, 4th of 11, 1 3/4l behind First Flight (8-2) at Ayr 1m hcp (2) gd in Jun.
