John Dunlop's Pershaan is selected to score on her handicap debut under Pat Eddery, while Cruise Director and Carrowdore seem sure to play a part in the finish. An unfancied 50/1 shot, Pershaan cut little ice on her two-year-old debut in a hot Newmarket maiden. This Darshaan filly then started at 33/1 for a similarly competitve heat over a mile at Doncaster, but was noted making significant late progress, finishing sixth of 22 behind, among others, her better-fancied stablemate, Discreet Brief. On her only outing this season, she kept on at the one pace to finish fourth at Kempton. Pershaan gave the impression that day that she would improve for the run and that she was crying out for a step up in trip. Her dam won over a mile and a half and was placed in Listed company over two miles, so significant improvement is expected now she takles this trip for the first time, and the handicapper has by no means been harsh in giving her a mark of just 75 for her handicap debut. John Dunlop is most adept in placing horses like this, and Pat Eddery rides Windsor better than anybody so she looks nap material. Of the rest, there was little to separate Crusie Director and Carrowdore at Doncaster last time, and the same might be the case here. Both look capable of playing a big role, with the former just preferred. Carrowdore's stablemate, Multicolour put up an eye-catching effort here last time and is one to note in the near future, although she will probably require further to produce her best. Recount won a shade cleverly at Leicester on Saturday, but may struggle to reverse earlier form with Trouble At Bay,
