We will shortlist three here - namely, The Prince, Barton Sands and Ocean Of Storms - and select Barton Sands. The selection fares well on adjusted ratings here and, while that is not always the best way of approaching these races, he comes into this contest in reasonable heart, ran pretty well at this track two runs ago, and seems to hold fair claims. The Prince will be the percentage call for many punters, though, for this 15-times winner is often competitive at this level these days and comes out best of all on the adjusted official ratings. Ocean Of Storms, who was rated 76 when second in a Goodwood handicap last July, holds a clear chance on that form now he has returned from Dubai. Of the others, Fen Gypsy, although disappointing of late, holds claims based on last summer's form, similar comments applying to Retirement. Omaha City might not be the force of old but he can still go well on his day, as the best of last summer's form can testify, while Tiffin Deano might improve for the step up in trip tonight, and Cayman Colony showed improvement last time out, although he'll have to produce more of the same tonight to feature. One who does not have to find quite as much is Barton Sands, and he is our selection in the claimer.
